Wrestling club to host Brakpan Challenge tournament
The tournament will have age categories, but no weight classes and will be open bracket.
The Brakpan Wrestling Club will be holding a tournament on May 17 at the club in the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre. There will be three mats, and the closing date for entries for the Brakpan Challenge will be May 14.
Weigh-in and medical will start at 08:00, and entries are R200 per entry or R150 per entry in PDI/UP, as well as R150 per additional entry.
Clubs are to pay an admin fee of R50, and the first 150 wrestlers to sign up will receive a surprise. The session schedule will be posted on May 16 after entries close.
The tournament won’t go according to weight classes, and all matches will be open brackets. The categories, however, are as follows:
• LL/LF U6 and U7 (LTPD).
• LL/LF U8, U9, U10 and U11.
• LF U13, U15 and over 15.
• LL U13, U15, U17, U20 and seniors.
• LL/LF President schools.
• LL/LF President juniors.
• GR President juniors.
All wrestlers must be registered in eTMS, withdrawals will not be refunded without a medical certificate, and gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded throughout the day.
