From Minnebron 4 Minnebron, an initiative established in the suburb earlier last month, held their second successful event over the weekend. The aim of the initiative is to foster a healthy community and support those in need.
The 5km big walk/fun run and cycling event on Saturday saw community members taking to the streets for some exercise, socialising and good old-fashioned fun.
EMPD members also participated in the 5km walk, and various security company personnel were visible along the route to ensure the safety of participants.
Monetary donations were received on the day, which will be used to get a community soup kitchen up and running.

“We thank everybody and all the business owners who donated towards the start-up for the soup kitchen that we want to start for less privileged residents in our area.
“We thank the working committee for the hard work behind the scenes to make these events happen and for creating a positive change in the community in which they reside.”
All Minnebron residents are encouraged to join in at future events.
