Fun day raises funds and awareness for Sonneveld toddler fighting rare cancer

The primary goal of the day was to create awareness.

Kayla van Biljon from Fierce Fusion Festivities held a fun day to raise funds for Miné Steyn (four) from Sonneveld on May 17.

The toddler is fighting a rare form of childhood cancer, adrenocortical carcinoma. Van Biljon is friends with Miné’s parents, Hennie (40) and Anele (34).

The day delivered live entertainment in the form of the band Mengelmoes, a balloon artist, a magician, performers on stilts, a domed jumping castle with balloons, various stalls and activities.

The morning started slowly, but soon picked up, with the fundraising and awareness achieved by the end of the day.

Several sponsors made the day possible, “We thank the sponsors, big and small, but especially Flutter & Float and Penny Pink Party Hire,” said Van Biljon.
