Lion Legends roar in Badminton Power League comeback

The Shuttle Stars Badminton Power League resumes on May 31 in Alberton, as top teams Lion Legends and Royal Falcons battle for the lead across three competitive divisions.

The Shuttle Stars Badminton Power League (SSBPL) resumes this weekend (May 31) with bumper match-day two fixtures in Alberton.

The four-team league opened with tightly contested matches at John Barrable Hall on May 10, with the Lion Legends dominating all three divisions. The Viper Smashes take on Royal Falcons while Lion Legends battle it out against Shadow Wolves.

They will play each other in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, as well as a three vs three match. The games start at 09:00.

The Royal Falcons and Lion Legends go into the weekend joint top on four points in the A-League, while the Lion Legends B side tops the standings in the B-League with four points, with Viper Smashes B team second on three points.

The Lion Legends lead the reserve league with eight points, with the Royal Falcons second with six points.

The competition features four teams divided into three leagues, with teams of three boys and three girls competing in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, as well as a triple (three vs. three) match.

Each team plays each other twice for a total of six matches throughout the season, which ends in November when the winners of each league will be crowned.
