Village of Hope delivers meals to hungry children in Plastic City
The organisation continues to appeal for more help, especially for areas like Plastic City, where the need is urgent.
Brakpan-based NPO Village of Hope holds a feeding outreach in different local informal settlements twice a month.
During the outreach on June 24, the organisation visited Plastic City, where children were provided with a meal of samp, soup, bread rolls and a sweet treat.
The NPO receives assistance from Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival, which sponsors food items. This is then distributed among underprivileged communities, specifically with children in mind.
NPO founder Tumie Masolane explained the need in Plastic City is higher than that of other informal settlements.
“We are seriously looking for ideas to work on feeding more at Plastic City,” she says.
The NPO is appealing to other businesses and individuals to assist. She may be contacted on 073 934 7409.
