Where to donate your child’s cots, clothes or linens in Brakpan

Four children, two of them infants, were placed in the care of Soul Kids.

The Soul Kids House of Safety in Brakpan previously closed due to the financial strain of caring for 15 children without government assistance. Now, it has reopened after the court placed four children – two of them infants – in its care.

“Six weeks ago, we received a distress call from concerned neighbours about four children, including two babies, locked in a flat for days while their parents were away on their own mission. I intervened immediately and the court officially placed the children in our care,’ said Belinda Stickling, the manager of Soul Kids.

Since reopening, the house has taken in four more children. Now, all eight, ranging from three months to 11 years, desperately need help.

The home still receives no government funding and needs the following:
• Cots and single beds;
• Baby and children’s clothing;
• Bedding – sheets, blankets and pillows; and
• Financial contributions to help cover daily essentials.

“Our facility can accommodate up to 15 children, but we cannot do it without your help. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps change a child’s life. Thank you for your kindness and support,” said Belinda.
