Felicitas learner qualifies for World Swimming Champs
With eyes set on the Paralympics, 17-year-old Damon Elbourne is training hard and ready to compete internationally.
Felicitas School learner Damon Elbourne (17) has qualified for the South African Down Syndrome and intellectually impaired swim team, which will compete in the Virtus Swimming World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 19 to 30.
Damon and his teammates need support and funding to make the trip. Competing in Bangkok is a crucial step on Damon’s journey to achieving his dream of qualifying for the 2028 Paralympics in the USA.
He has been swimming for four years and trains daily for two hours, showing his dedication and passion for the sport.
