Brakpan residents urged to attend public meeting on fixed electricity tariffs

Brakpan residents can have their say on the City of Ekurhuleni’s proposed fixed electricity tariffs for 2025/26 at a public consultation meeting on September 20 at 11:00 at the KwaThema Civic Hall.

Following a council decision last August to provide a further two-month consultation period, the City of Ekurhuleni will be hosting public participation meetings on fixed electricity tariffs for the 2025/26 financial year from September 20 to 27.

Residents are urged to take advantage of the opportunity to give their input on the proposed fixed electricity tariffs so that the city can make a decision that balances the needs and concerns of people and the financial sustainability of the city, ensuring continued and reliable electricity supply to all residents.

A meeting will be held at the KwaThema Civic Hall at 11:00 on September 20 for residents in the Brakpan, Springs, Nigel, and KwaThema wards 5, 72, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 82, and 97.

Another meeting will be held at the same time at the Boksburg City Hall for residents in the Germiston, Boksburg, Alberton, Thokoza, and Benoni wards 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 52, 53, 54, 57, 58, 61, 92, 93, 94, 95, 101, 103, and 106.
