Village of Hope and community unite to support children

Village of Hope visited the Mgongo informal settlement to check on children affected by violent storm.

The team from local non-profit organisation Village of Hope visited the Mgongo informal settlement on November 26 to check on the wellbeing of the settlement’s children following the heavy storm the previous night.

“In every situation our beneficiaries are always on our minds. Their safety matters to us,” said the NPO’s founder, Tumie Masolane.

With preparations for the NPO’s annual Christmas party currently underway, Thandi Tshabalala from the Mgongo CPF was assigned to lead the programme.

The programme went smoothly and Tumie praised Thandi, or Tee Tee as she is known, for her dedication and commitment.

“Thank God we have people that help us to carry this responsibility with dedication and honesty. All went very well, and we are all excited about the Christmas party,” said Tumie.

Tumie also extended thanks to Louise Holms and other community members for their support, as well as Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival for their continued contributions in providing food for the children.

She also expressed gratitude to the Mgongo CPF for their ongoing assistance.

“We are blessed to have all their support,” said Tumie.

The NPO welcomes donations of all kinds from community members, companies, and organisations. For contributions or more information, call Tumie on 073 934 7409.
