Mall@Carnival traffic lights operational

The lights were offline due to a fault from the provincial department of roads and transport.

Following a few days of downtime, the traffic lights near the Mall@Carnival are operational again, according to the mall’s centre manager, Erna Vermaak.

“The robot is working again. Power was restored from the roads department. Now we are ready for the festive season,” she said.

According to a post on the mall’s Facebook page last week, the matter was investigated and all systems on the mall’s end were found to be functioning properly.

“Unfortunately, there is a power failure issue from the provincial department of roads and transport. We are trying our outmost best to ensure that the traffic lights are up and running for your convenience,” the post read.

Earlier this year, the Mall@Carnival and other stakeholders adopted the traffic lights at the intersection of Airport and Heidelberg roads, following months of the lights being out of order.
