Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

A man implicated in proceedings before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has died after reportedly taking his own life at a petrol station in Brakpan on the evening of February 7.

Pretorius was implicated in the murder of a man in Sallies Village in 2022.

Following his testimony at the commission, Van der Merwe was shot and killed outside his Brenthurst home in December.

On February 5, Pretorius survived an alleged attempt on his life outside his Van Dyk Park home in Boksburg.
