Birthday celebration turns into brand-new car win

A free spin on the casino floor quickly turned into a dream moment.

A birthday celebration turned into an unforgettable moment at Carnival City, when a lucky guest drove away with a brand new Jaecoo J5 Inferno.

Arthur Spelding from Benoni struck it lucky while enjoying the Slots Car Mystery promotion with his wife.

The couple, who were staying at Carnival City Road Lodge to celebrate his birthday, decided to visit the casino and try their luck on the slot machines.

While playing on a participating machine on the main casino floor, Spelding triggered a free spin, only for the machine to suddenly switch into celebration mode.

“At first I was confused,” he said.

“I thought it was just a bonus feature. Then the attendants came over and told me I had won the car. I couldn’t believe it. I was just enjoying my birthday with my wife, and Carnival City surprised me with the ultimate gift.”

The Slots Car Mystery promotion gave guests the chance to win instantly, with no draws or tickets required.

By simply playing on selected machines, any spin could have triggered the major prize. Spelding described the experience as a true stroke of luck and said he and his wife are still deciding whether to keep or sell the vehicle.

Speaking about the win, Carnival City’s new general manager, Johan Oosthuizen, said the promotion reflects the casino’s commitment to creating genuine moments of excitement for its guests.

“There’s something special about seeing a spontaneous win unfold on the gaming floor, especially when it coincides with a personal celebration like a birthday,” he said.

“Our aim is to deliver experiences that surprise, delight and reward our guests in real time.”

In addition to the Slots Car Mystery winner, Carnival City has also celebrated another recent car winner through its Bank or Burn promotion.

Karin Gryvenstein from Boksburg became the first winner in this promotion, walking away with a Tata Tiago during the April draw.

Overcome with emotion as she stood alongside her new car, she shared that while the win came as a complete surprise, she plans to sell the vehicle after recently purchasing a new car earlier this year.
