Letter: Noise nightmare continues despite repeated complaints

A resident says repeated reports to authorities about loud gatherings, fights and church services have brought no relief.

Yolandi Meyer writes by email:

With reference to the letter in the Brakpan Herald’s May 15 edition, “Taking action against loud neighbours”.

I have been phoning those numbers for months and have been to the municipality numerous times, but nobody does anything about noise complaints in Brakpan.

There is a house in my area where there are church services every Sunday. On Saturdays, they drink and fight.

The drums and other instruments are so loud.

I have tried everything. The metro and police come here and laugh with them. So, no those numbers and the municipality does nothing.

I have videos, photos, everything, to prove it and have sent it all over. Nothing gets done about this.
