Armed intruders followed a Dalpark Ext 6 man into his Chestnut Street home on September 5 after he stepped outside for a cigarette.

According to police information, the incident took place at about 20:30 as the man was going back inside and was confronted by the pair, both armed with pistols.

They told the man and another occupant of the house they would not hurt them. They removed the laces from the victims’ shoes and tied their hands.

The pair then asked about a man they believed lived at the residence, and were told no such person lived there.

Four other people inside the home were also tied up in the sitting room. The intruders told the victims they had entered the wrong house.

During the ordeal, they used Cash Send to transfer money from the victims’ accounts.

They fled with various household items, including a laptop, a gaming console, TVs, cellphones and groceries.

A case of house robbery is under investigation by Brakpan police.
