The presiding officer stated that none of the applicants were able to demonstrate exceptional circumstances.
Julius Mkhwanazi and his five co-accused briefly appeared before the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court today (September 15) for the final verdict on their bail applications in the Emmanuel Mbense murder case.
The presiding officer, Colin Mashego, denied bail to all six.
“In this matter the court finds no exceptional circumstances, or is satisfied that none of the applicants one, two, three, four, five, nor six has shown exceptional circumstances,” Mashego said.
They remain in custody.
