Between September 15 and 18, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested four suspects and recovered drugs, copper, and a truck with a trailer. Among those arrested was a 47-year-old man in Brakpan on Thursday.

Members were patrolling at about 15:30 when the suspect was nabbed for a drug-related offence in Station Road. Mandrax was recovered in this incident.

Prior to this, on Tuesday, at around 15:30, members patrolling in Sixth Street in Northmead were stopped by CMS Security and a resident.

Two suspects, aged 29 and 35, were caught after allegedly breaking into the residence and loading a bakkie with household goods.

After an initial investigation, the suspects were arrested and detained at Benoni SAPS.

Members patrolling the R555/Springs Road next to Etwatwa on Wednesday morning at around 04:20 pulled over a white Toyota Quantum.

A 40-year-old suspect was immediately arrested when she was found in possession of five bags containing copper cables.

In further policing on Friday, at 15:00, members assisted Tracker and Santam Insurance with the recovery of a white MAN XC90 truck and a yellow trailer at the corner of Bosworth Road and Dienst Street in Alrode, Alberton.

The truck and trailer were reported hijacked on a Heidelberg case.

Investigations continue in all cases. The suspects appeared and will appear in local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen goods, and house burglary.
