Steyl also received a medal for 30 years of service. Killian congratulated the recipients and acknowledged the challenges these members faced every day on the streets.

He explained this was a special occasion, a well-earned and deserved highlight of their careers. Killian mentioned that giving your life to serve and what it entails is not always understood by communities.

With himself on the brink of retirement, he informed the members he would expect them to continue their exceptional service and thanked them for these duties.

He wished members well and stated this is one of his last moments in the SAPS that he would cherish forever. The parade concluded with Steyl thanking Killian and members for their participation.
