R100k worth of suspected stolen goods found in informal settlement
The discovery was made after law enforcers received a tip-off.

Two men were arrested in Brakpan after they were found in possession of suspected stolen goods with an estimated value of R100 000.
EMPD tracing unit officers and SAPS received a tip-off on October 24 regarding stolen goods that may be in a shack located in the Mkhancwa informal settlement in Maryvlei.
Upon arrival at the shack, officers searched the premises and discovered multiple suspected stolen goods. The man found in the shack could not account for the goods.
The items included a luggage bag, two 48cm television sets, an amplifier, a microwave, a brown leather lounge suite, a generator and a camping bed.
The man explained that the items belonged to the owner of the shack, a Mozambican man, who also failed to account for the goods.
The items were confiscated and the two were arrested.
The duo, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property, were detained at the Brakpan SAPS. The SAPS detective section will investigate the origin of the goods.
