House robbers target Dalpark Ext 9 family
A quiet evening was violently interrupted when two armed men entered the home and threatened the family at gunpoint.
A Dalpark Ext 9 family were tied up by two armed intruders during a house robbery on August 27.
Police information reveals the family – a man, his wife and daughter – were sitting in the lounge when two men armed with guns entered the Langenhoven Street home at about 19:30.
The duo, wearing masks and gloves, immediately took the victims’ cellphones and demanded money.
They then forced the man to transfer money via cash send to a cellphone. The robbers then phoned someone to withdraw the money.
During the ordeal, the man’s brother-in-law arrived, and he along with the rest of the family were taken to a bedroom where they were tied up.
The robbers then ransacked the house, taking a laptop, tablet, music equipment, cellphones and other valuables before fleeing the scene. A house robbery case is under investigation by Brakpan SAPS.
