Donate clean jars, dried grains, pasta for Tweedy Park soup packs

The jars will be assembled at Louwrens Coetzer and Partners on Mandela Day to nourish the elderly residents.

Louwrens Coetzer and Partners are collecting soup ingredients and jars to make soup mix jars for the elderly residents of Tweedy Park, to nourish them for the rest of winter.

They ask the community of Brakpan to donate soup ingredients such as rice, lentils, split peas, pasta, stock cubes, soup mix, and any other ingredients.

They’re also collecting clean, lidded, glass jars with a volume of 750ml, in which the mix will be stored. They ask that the community drop these off at the office before July 18 at 15 Athlone Avenue.

On July 18, for Mandela day, volunteers can join the firm as they assemble the soup jars, which will be delivered to Tweedy Park.

The firm calls it the Kindness Soup Jar Challenge, stating: “Let’s look after our elderly and keep them warm this winter. Bring hope, warmth and love and show the power of kindness.”
