Brakpan CPF unites stakeholders in crime crackdown
The local CPF's crime prevention initiative resulted in arrests and strengthened collaboration between law enforcement, private security and community organisations.
High visibility and coordinated law enforcement efforts led to several arrests during Operation Unity in Brakpan on July 25.
The operation, organised by the Brakpan CPF, was conducted from 15:00 until midnight, and focused on crime reduction and fostering unity.
The Brakpan CPF invited CPF structures from all 39 policing precincts in Ekurhuleni, along with neighbouring security companies, to participate.
Although the turnout from other CPFs was limited, Brakpan CPF members were out in full force.
Representatives from Brakpan SAPS, the EMPD, Secure Tech Security, ADT Security, Graphite Security, Home Affairs Immigration Services and Community in Blue patrollers also took part.

The parade was held at Carnival City and was led by Brakpan SAPS Vispol commander Colonel Robert Makopo.
Brakpan SAPS station commander Brigadier Johanna Ngoma later joined the operation. Participants were divided into three teams, each assigned to a different area.
The teams concentrated their efforts in Dalpark, the Brakpan CBD and Brenthurst.
The operation was aimed at addressing undocumented migration, drug-related crime, illegal street trading and compliance at second-hand goods dealers.
Successes included four arrests for drug possession, five for drunk driving, and 10 undocumented migrants.
