A family at Martial Arts Xtreme

Martial Arts Xtreme, in Brakpan, started with humble beginnings and now its owner, Shihan Louis “Lappies” Labuschagne (grand master), has decided to take his club to the next level.

“This year we decided to go big or go home and move into bigger premises,” he said.

Martial Arts Xtreme officially opened its new dojo doors in Kritzinger Avenue, in May.

The new facility offers classes and training in self-defence (particularly aimed at housewives), jiu-jitsu, kickboxing and mixed martial arts.

“We are a big family at the moment and most of our students have made provincial and national colours,” said Labuschagne.

Chief instructor Niel du Toit (third Dan in kickboxing) moved up the ranks with Martial Arts Xtreme and will keep a good eye on martial arts students and offer sound advice.

Labuschagne himself is a seventh Dan in Aiki-Jitsu (graded in Turkey in 2011) and is a third Dan in kickboxing and fourth Dan in Funakoshi karate.

Martial Arts Xtreme is located at 125 B Kritzinger Avenue, in Brakpan Central.

For more information contact Labuschagne on 083 791 0734.

The dojo is open on Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 9pm, and on Friday, from 9am to 6pm.
