Get rocking and racing

The Rock Raceway will be a hive of high-speed, adrenalin-filled action when the Liqui Moly Legends Race of Champions gets under way on Saturday, August 16.

The Legends Racing drivers will be taking on the daunting gauntlet set out in a same style set-up as the European Race of Champions.

The circuit also features a tricky bridge that drivers have to negotiate over and under.

This NASCAR-style replica of the early ’30s will see a variety of well-known South African racing drivers behind the wheel, as well as South African singer Nicholis Louw, in his Liqui Moly Chev number 16.

The event is set to be a real rock ‘n roll and racing affair, as East Rand-based band Saving Silence will be beating out some of their tunes, while Nicholis Louw sings with popular co-singer Ray Dylan.

Rockers and petrol-heads can make their way to the Rock Raceway when gates open for business from noon, when the drivers will be on circuit for practise.

Race proceedings will start at 4pm.
