Get ready for fight night
Carnival City will again host EFC Africa 34, on Thursday, October 2.
Striking specialist Sibusiso ‘The Monster’ Mdoko challenges the champion Leon ‘Iron Lion’ Mynhardt for the lightweight title.
Mdoko, the showman from Cape Town, is a crowd favourite with an impressive finishing record.
He has put away his last three opponents and has never been finished.
Another must-see-clash is between East Rand local Francois ‘Franaconda’ Groenewald and the most dominant athlete in EFC history, Demarte ‘The Wolf’ Pena, for EFC gold.
Pena is renowned for his grappling-based fighting style while Groenewald is a world bronze Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu medalist.
Groenewald, who fights under the banner of the Brakpan based Xtreme Fighting Technologies (XKT) has vowed to be the man to upend Pena’s devastating ground game, and put his nine-fight winning streak to bed.
In addition to these main fights, there are 11 more action-packed bouts for EFC followers to sink their teeth into.
EFC Africa 34 consists of seven hours of nail-biting action that no mixed martial arts follower should miss.
The doors to Carnival City’s Big Top Arena will open at 3.30pm, with the event kicking off at 4pm.
The main card bouts will take place from 8pm.
