‘Whackhead’ chalks it up at SA Blackball-Pool Championships

Simpson has played pool and snooker since he was a teenager.

Radio personality and funnyman, Darren “Whackhead” Simpson, is amongst the cueists from across South Africa who descended on Carnival City’s Big Top Arena for the SA Blackball-Pool Championships 2015/16 to compete for top titles.

Hosted by the Gauteng Blackball Federation, the event was held from January 24 to February 7.

Professional cueists competed in various categories such as men, women, under 23, seniors and masters.

Amongst them was the Gauteng Central Team, which is made up of Zane Khan, Leslie Monting, Chris Pandazis and Basil Moonsamy.

Simpson, who has played pool and snooker since he was a teenager, was a participant in the championship on a wild card level.
