The rise of the Valke

Just like many companies, Valke's loss of income during the pandemic led to them being liquidated.

The Valke Rugby Union is a proud product of the East Rand and the south of Gauteng. The union started in 1947 and for a while, it looked like 2020 will be their last year.

Just like many companies, Valke’s loss of income during the pandemic led to them being liquidated.

But like a true phoenix rising from the ashes, the union is starting to build momentum and strength in the Currie Cup first division competition.

The Valke is two for two with a convincing 50-17 win against the SWD in George before they beat the Leopards at home 36-34.

Under coach JP Immelman, the union has been lifted to new heights.
