Massive prizes at EEDA fishing competition

There is a meat hamper raffle, a fishing box raffle, and cash prizes for the biggest carp, biggest mudfish and biggest catfish.

The Ekurhuleni East Darts Association (EEDA) will host a fishing competition at the Aqua Via Angling Retreat in Vereeniging on October 31 from 07:00.

The competition ends at 15:00, followed by the prize-giving at 16:00, promising a full day of angling and a chance to win big.

No boats or open fires are allowed, and limited pegs are available. Participants pay R250 for seniors, R150 for children 11 to 18 years of age, R100 for non-fishermen, and children under 10 participate for free.

Fishing is only allowed after the 07:00 start, with two rods per angler in accordance with Central Gauteng Angling rules. All fish are to be weighed in the designated weigh-in area, and dead fish will not be weighed.

Prizes up for grabs include R2 000 for the biggest carp, including a tackle box, R2 000 for the biggest mudfish and R1 000 for the biggest catfish.

Two raffle prizes will also be up for grabs, including a meat hamper worth R3 000 at R10 per ticket, and a fishing box with a stand and bag at R20 per ticket.

For banking details and to book your spot, contact EEDA president Leon Jooste on 083 287 0824 or Herman Waltmann on 081 237 2741.
