Musicians and artists to be showcased at first ever MusiCraftArt
The objective of the event is to promote the diversity and heritage of South African music and art.

Carnival City will host the inaugural South Africa Music Xchange event, MusiCraftArt, on December 19.
Jazz music enthusiasts can look forward to entertainment by international jazz ensemble Najponk Trio, which performs with South African artists such as Feya Faku, Andile Yenana, Sydney Mnisi, African Jazz Masters and the Mzansi Jazz Band.
The laid back outdoor event takes place at Carnival City’s Festival Lawns and Big Top Arena from 7pm, and will combine spectacular live entertainment with an exhibition of locally produced arts and crafts.
The objective of MusiCraftArt is to promote the diversity and heritage of South African music and art, and create opportunities for artists to showcase their talents.
The vision is to make it an annual event.
Upon accepting an invitation to perform in South Africa, the Najponk Trio said: “We’ve performed at some incredible venues around the world, but nothing in Africa.
“The symbolism of having this concert in SA, as a gateway to the rest of Africa, is so powerful.
“It’s an honour for us to be sharing the stage with some of SA’s greatest artists and helping to shape the future of jazz through the workshops planned as part of the Music Xchange event.”
