Transformers Animatronics
Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and the Rescue Bots will invade the African continent for the first time in Transformers Animatronics, at Emperors Palace. This travelling exhibition of international standards will feature 12 animated Transformers, nine sculptures made from car parts and scaled between 2m and 11m, and a further 20 statues varying in size. The exhibition can be viewed from 10am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday.

Koskermis
‘n Koskermis vind plaas by die Frank Mynhardt Sorgsentrum, geleë op die hoek van Voortrekkerweg en Wanderersstraat. Die kermis sal vanaf 9vm plaasvind. Fund-raiser
A Donkey Derby fund-raiser will be held to help cover the medical costs of a heart surgery for five-year-old Brakpan North resident Jaden Trollip. Jaden, who was born with a form of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) called tricuspid atresia, recently survived his third major heart surgery at the Netcare Sunninghill Hospital, in Johannesburg. The derby will take place at 5pm for 5.30pm, at the Party Venue, at 89 Patten Road, in Benoni Agricultural Holdings. Hirsch’s flea market
Hirsch’s Carnival, situated at 22 Nossob Street, will be hosting a flea market in the parking lot. The flea market will be held from 9am to 2pm. LifeLine/Pubniters Live Show

Mother’s Day concert
Encore will perform at Carnival City’s Mardi Gras Theatre. The show starts at 8pm. The Afro-Soul music group have been creating magic for the past seven years and have finally put together their finest work into 13 tracks. They stepped into the commercial stream with their hit single Ke Fela Pelo which can be heard taking over radio and music waves across the country.
Cooper Dust Series
Four-by-four drivers can test their mettle in South Africa’s only, truly national amateur 4×4 competition, the Cooper Dust Series. The event takes place at Carnival City’s new Sun Park. The fun and games will start at 7.30am and spectators are welcome to come and watch the action. The event, which invites drivers to show off their 4×4 prowess in a series of 30 obstacles, promises loads of nail-biting competition and tremendous entertainment for spectators. Troye the Hypnotist
One of the country’s foremost comedians, mentalists and hypnotists, Troye the Hypnotist, will deliver a delightful mix of mind-boggling tricks and laugh-out-loud comedy at Carnival City. This master stage hypnotist will perform an electrifying show at Carnival City’s Applause@Bru’s. The audience can expect to be captivated by Troye’s spectacular sense of humour and his ability to get them to do various strange, weird and incredibly entertaining routines on stage. The show starts at 8.30pm.

Golf day fund-raiser

The Festival @ St Dunstan’s
Don’t miss out on a family fun day with a hot line-up including Locnville, Timo ODV, Euphonik, Rubber Duc, Crystal Park, Voltrex, Kahn Morbee and Chunda Munki. Gates for the family fun-filled festival happening at the St Dunstan’s College, situated at 54 Millburn Street, in Rynfield, Benoni, will open at 1pm. A ‘kids zone’ facility is available so parents can dance along to songs while being assured that their children are also entertained. There will also be a beer garden, but there will be controlled access and identification will be asked for to ensure that minors are not able to enter the beer garden.

Rock in my Taal
Legendary South African artist Francois van Coke will rock in his taal in a one-night-only show at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena. Van Coke’s fans can look forward to seeing him perform new material from his album Hierdie Is Die Lewe, released in February this year. The show, Rock in my Taal, promises to be the Afrikaans rock event of the year as van Coke collaborates with Die Heuwels Fantasties and The Sweet Resistance. He will also perform with his own band, Die Gevaar. Rock in my Taal kicks off at 8pm.

Geotab Just Wheels Show
The annual Geotab Just Wheels Show will take place in aid of Muriel Brand School, on the school grounds, from 8am until late. All classic, vintage, sport, rod, race cars, trucks and bikes are welcome. An entrance fee is charged, but show vehicles enter free. There will also be lots to eat and drink.
