13 Mei

May 13

Don’t miss out on a family fun day at The Festival @ St Dunstans, with a hot line-up including Locnville, Timo ODV, Euphonik, Rubber Duc, Crystal Park, Voltrex, Kahn Morbee and Chunda Munki. The festival is at St Dunstan’s College, 54 Millburn Street, Rynfield, Benoni, and gates open at 1pm. A ‘kids zone’ facility is available so parents can dance along to songs while being assured their children are also entertained. There will also be an access-controlled beer garden.

The annual Geotab Just Wheels Show will take place in aid of Muriel Brand School, on the school grounds, from 8am until late. All classic, vintage, sport, rod, race cars, trucks and bikes are welcome. Show vehicles enter free. To book a flea market stall, contact Leonora van Staden (073 296 2047). A Brakpan Women United in Prayer meeting will be held at the Assembly of God Fellowship, 114 Germains Street. The meeting will start at 2.30pm. This is an interdenominational women’s prayer group. For more information, contact Lynne van Wyk (082 356 1331).

3 Junie

Die Jabes Sorgsentrum hou ‘n pretdag wat om 10vm te Taftlaan 7 plaasvind. Verskeie kunstenaars gaan deur die loop van die dag optree. Daar sal ook verskeie stalletjies wees en die Chevy en Lumina Groep gaan hul voertuie uitstal. Vir stalletjie besprekings kan Jolene van Zyl (076 472 5491) gekontak word.

26 – 28 Junie

Die Laerskool Brakpan-Oos bied sy revue, “Kapperjolle 2017”, aan in die skoolsaal. Kaartjies is reeds beskikbaar by die skool (011 740 9630).

Monday

The Nigel Bridge Group plays bridge every Monday from 9am to 1pm, in the NG Church hall, corner of Rudd and Harries roads, Dunnottar. New members, with or without a partner, are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Sylvia Gallichan (011 814 3492 or 082 756 3223).

Tuesday

The Brakpan Homecrafts Society meets every first Tuesday of the month, in the St Peter’s Anglican Church hall, at 10am. New members are welcome. For more information, contact Jane Donker (011 915 2539).

A Narcotics Anonymous meeting for people who have a problem with drugs – or think they may have a problem with drugs – is held every Tuesday, at 7.30pm, at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.

Wednesday

A soup kitchen is held every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.

Thursday

The East Rand Amateur Radio Club meets every Thursday, at 7pm, at its clubhouse, in Ebenezer Street, Arrowe Park, Benoni. For more information, contact Paul Connel (083 627 3576).

Business owners are invited to join a prayer hour, hosted by the Christian Family Church, Brakpan. The church is situated at 2 Carmyllie Avenue, Dalview, and the prayer hour starts at 1pm every Thursday. For more information, contact Past Linda-Lee Brits (071 493 6454).

A Parkinson’s Disease support group meeting takes place every last Thursday of the month, at Rynpark 6, corner of Struben and Parker streets, in Rynfield, Benoni. The meeting starts at 10am. Contact Heather Smith for more information (011 849 8509).

Saturday

The Brakpan Dog Training Club meets every Saturday, at 3pm, at the club, in Hospital Road (opposite the Sherwood Shopping Centre). For more information, contact Pam Bubb (082 492 1062).

Sunday

The Just Wheels Car Club hosts an open day at the clubhouse, every last Sunday of the month. The club is situated at 169 Kitzinger Avenue, Dalview.
