What’s happening in Brakpan

• 11-13 Oktober

’n 50-jaar reünie word vir die 1969 matrieks van Hoër Meisieskool Stoffberg gereël. Persone wat die skool vanaf 1965 tot 1969 bygewoon het word gesoek. Die samekoms sal tydens die naweek van 11 tot 13 Oktober in Brakpan gehou word. Kontak die organiseerder, Elsie Geldenhuys (nou Schoombie), by 076 014 4096 of 082 926 6674.

• Hirsch’s Carnival will host its monthly training programme for entrepreneurs at 10am. Guest speakers include Margaret Hirsch, COE at Hirsch’s, and Elsa Groenewald from Action Coach. • 26 Oktober

NH Kerk Brenthurst te Thomasstraat 38 hou ’n kermis. Heerlike eetgoed soos boereworsrolle, kerrie en rys, vetkoeke, spiraalaartappels, potjiekos pannekoek en poedings sal te koop wees. Vermaak vir die kinders word ook gereël. Daar sal ook ’n uitstalling veteraanmotors wees. Musiek word verskaf deur Danie van der Weshuizen en sy sangmaat Lu-Anél.

• 2 November

Manna vir Kinders hou ’n mark in die parkeerarea van NG Kerk Moedergemeente te Victoriastraat. Die mark word gehou om fondse in te samel om sodoende minderbevoorregte gesinne tydens Kersfees te help. Donasies van nie-bederfbare voedsel en speelgoed kan na die mark geneem word. Twee plaaslike kunstenaars, Darius Joubert en Juliana du Plessis sal vir die musiek sorg. Stalletjies kan ook bespreek word. Skakel vir Boeta van Lill vir meer inligting (071 859 7403).

• A Narcotics Anonymous meeting for people who have a problem with drugs, or think they may have a problem with drugs, is held every Tuesday at 7.30pm at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.

• Wednesday

The East and Woodworkers Association meets every third Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the Northmead Methodist Church. All interested in woodwork or woodcarving are welcome. Call Les Sales on 082 677 7097.

• The Hospice Charity Shop situated at the corner of Prince George and Kitzinger avenues (133 Kitzinger Avenue) has a half-price sale on all clothing items every Wednesday.

Tutela Brakpan, geleë te Northdenelaan 106a, gaan voortaan elke tweede en laaste Donderdag van die maand ’n klereverkoping by die kantoor hê.
