Hirsch’s Carnival, situated at 22 Nossob Street, Dalpark, will be hosting a networking platform for business people with Brakpan Business at 8.30am

March 28
A 5km fun walk in aid of nine-year-old Jaco Viljoen, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, will be held at Muriel Brand School from 9am to 3pm. The entry fee for fun walk participants is R50. There will also be food stalls, and crafts and other goodies on sale. Stalls are still available. Contact Albi Viljoen (060 540 1437).
March 29
The Brakpan Herald’s car boot sale will be held during the Just Wheels Vehicle and Tractor Club’s Open Day from 9am to 2pm at the club’s premises at 69 Kitzinger Avenue. Car boot sellers may only sell second-hand goods, including bric-a-brac, tools, kitchenware, baby items, toys, clothing, books, paintings and gardening and camping equipment, etc. To book your spot, contact Thelma Koorts (011 740 1825 or email to brakpanherald@caxton.co.za).

• Saturday
The St Peter’s Anglican Church holds a book sale every second Saturday of the month from 8.30am until 2pm. The church is situated along Queen Avenue.
• Sunday
The Eastern Wargame Group meets on alternate Sundays in Mackenzie Park, Benoni. For more information contact Barry Booyse (076 134 8488).
• Tuesday
The Brakpan Homecrafts Society meets every first Tuesday of the month at St Peter’s Anglican Church hall at 10am. New members are welcome. For more information contact Jane Donker (011 915 2539).
• A Narcotics Anonymous meeting for people who have a problem with drugs, or think they may have a problem with drugs, is held every Tuesday at 7.30pm at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.
• Wednesday
The East Rand Woodworkers Association meets every third Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the Northmead Methodist Church. All interested in woodwork or woodcarving are welcome. Call Les Sales (082 677 7097).
• The Hospice Charity Shop situated at the corner of Prince George and Kitzinger avenues (133 Kitzinger Avenue) has a half-price sale on all clothing items every Wednesday.
• Christian Missionary Fellowship International invites you to an interdenominational prayer fellowship every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7pm at 121 Athlone Avenue, Dalview. For more information contact Ariel Mesa (083 480 4737).
• A soup kitchen is held every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 74 Queen Avenue.
• Thursday
