Village of Hope delivers meals amid Winter Drive preparations

Village of Hope provided meals to 130 children and 20 parents during its latest outreach in the Mgongo informal settlement.

Village of Hope continued its outreach work in the Mgongo informal settlement on April 21, where the Brakpan-based non-profit organisation provided meals and mentorship to orphaned and vulnerable children.

Despite ongoing operational challenges, the NPO remains committed to supporting the community and ensuring continued care for children in need.

“Our gas cylinder was empty, we had to start a fire and the children were waiting. It was very difficult, but it happened,” said Village of Hope founder, Tumie Masolane.

One-hundred-and-thirty children and 20 parents received a meal during the initiative.

The NPO extended its gratitude to Mama Nompumelelo Ndaba, Logan Naina from Rise Against Hunger, under the Inner Voice Foundation, and Siyabonga Africa for their continued support.

Special recognition was also given to the Mgongo CPF, as well as team members Tlhokomelo Masolane and Nsuku Baloyi for their ongoing dedication to the initiative.

Tumie confirmed that preparations for their upcoming Winter Drive are underway. The drive is aimed at assisting vulnerable children with warm clothing during the colder months.
