Women raped during night out

A Carletonville woman was raped while enjoying a night out over the weekend.

The 30-year-old woman and a friend were at Suits Pub in Carletonville on Sunday, 19 May. When she went to the counter to buy drinks, she met a man with whom she exchanged phone numbers.

The man then asked where she was going after leaving Suits, and she replied that she would be heading to Corner Pocket in Oberholzer. The man volunteered to drive her to the latter pub but asked if he could quickly grab a jacket from home as it was nearby.

The victim agreed, but when they got into the house, he allegedly grabbed and raped the woman, threatening to kill her.

She managed to free herself, ran away and immediately called the police.
