Tlotli Violet shines at Keep Merafong Alive event in Carletonville

Rising local artist shares stage with top SA stars while boosting community-driven initiative

Local star Tlotli Violet performed at the Keep Merafong Alive event, which took place at the Civic Centre in Carletonville on 4 April. The event was more than just a gathering, as it served as a powerful demonstration of community unity and economic empowerment.

Local businesses experienced meaningful growth, while food vendors had the opportunity to showcase and sell their products. Local security patrols, along with bouncers, played a vital role in ensuring a safe and well-managed environment throughout the event.

More than 200 job opportunities were created, contributing positively to livelihoods within the local community.

Tlotli expressed her appreciation for the platform, saying it has helped revive her music career. She mentioned that she faced several challenges in preparing for the event, but managed to overcome them and delivered an epic performance, despite performing earlier in the lineup.

She is grateful for the opportunity, as it has opened new doors for her. She shared the stage with national artists such as Maphorisa, Kelvin Momo, Royal Musiq and DJ Zodi, while also supporting various local acts — adding further credibility to her name.

She plans to work on new music and establish herself professionally in the music industry. Her mother has been very supportive throughout her journey, consistently encouraging her and showing support on social media.

The future looks bright for the up-and-coming star, as new opportunities such as performances and collaborations continue to arise.

“I am very grateful to the organisers of Keep Merafong Alive for the great opportunity to showcase my talent, and I am excited about my career,” she said cheerfully.
