A resident of Khutsong Ext5 had a harrowing encounter with armed robbers over the past long weekend.

The young man (21) was sleeping in his house in the 70s at approximately 03:20 on April 26. He was suddenly woken up by the loud noise of two men forcing the door open. The thugs, who spoke Sesotho, were armed with a handgun and a rifle.

They grabbed the victim’s iPhone and ran out of the house, firing shots into the air as they fled. No injuries were reported.

The Carletonville Police are investigating a house robbery case following the incident.
