Wedela preschool learners visit police station for inspiring career day

Young children tour Wedela Police Station and learn about careers in the South African Police Service.

A group of young learners from Wedela Preschool enjoyed an unforgettable experience this week when they visited the local police station for a special career day.

The acting station commander, Warrant Officer Maphukatha, welcomed the 72 children and their teachers to the Wedela Police Station on May 20.

Following the warm welcome, the police social crime prevention officer, Sergeant Zikhona Sifuba, led the young visitors on a comprehensive tour of the facilities.

During the tour, Sifuba showed the children all the different offices and explained the specific work that police officers carry out in each room.

She noted that the children were happy to learn all about the various offices and careers available within the SAPS.
