Armed robbers hold Oberholzer tenants hostage

Two armed suspects forced residents to help them search a Banfield Street property before stealing cellphones and locking the occupants in a room.

A resident of Oberholzer had a harrowing experience when he was attacked in his yard this week.

This incident took place at 19:05 on June 5.

The resident (29) was on his way to work when he saw an unknown man in his yard in Banfield Street.

When he walked up to the man, the intruder pointed a firearm at him.

An accomplice joined the robber, and they told the resident that they were looking for a tenant of the same house who drives a Toyota.

The thugs forced the resident to accompany them as they searched the house, room to room, to ask all the tenants about the man with the Toyota.

Luckily, the thugs could not find him, but they stole four cellphones and locked the resident and all the other tenants in a room before fleeing.

The police are investigating a house robbery.
