Shop worker stabbed during Welverdiend robbery

A supermarket employee was hospitalised after allegedly being stabbed by four young robbers during a violent business robbery in Welverdiend.

A shop employee is in hospital after being stabbed by a group of young people during a robbery in Welverdiend.

According to a reliable source, the incident occurred at around 15:20 on June 21.

A group of four youths allegedly stormed into a small supermarket in 10th Avenue, grabbing groceries and cold drinks from the shelves. Two of the suspects were reportedly armed with knives.

As the group fled the shop, they bumped into an employee. The worker attempted to stop them, but the suspects allegedly stabbed him before leaving him lying on the pavement.

The injured employee was rushed to Carletonville Hospital for treatment.

Police in Carletonville are investigating cases of attempted murder and business robbery.
