House robbers strike in Oberholzer

Armed suspects allegedly held a resident captive while an accomplice stole copper pipes from his home.

A resident of Wilhelmina Street in Oberholzer fell victim to a house robbery after returning home from work on the evening of June 12.

As the resident arrived at his front door, two unknown men allegedly grabbed him and threatened him with knives.

The suspects forced the man into his home and demanded to know the whereabouts of another resident. After being told that the other occupant was not at home, they held the victim captive.

While the victim was being restrained, an accomplice allegedly dismantled and stole copper pipes from the main house before the suspects fled.

Police in Carletonville are investigating the house robbery.
