Police seek witnesses to fatal R500 crash near Fountain Hospital

Investigators are appealing for information after a Fochville motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a bakkie on the R500.

Carletonville police are appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed a fatal accident near Fountain Private Hospital earlier this year.

The collision occurred on the R500 at approximately 19:00 on May 23.

A 36-year-old motorcyclist from Fochville, Adderley Parau, was killed at the scene when his motorcycle collided with a red Ford double-cab bakkie driven by Merafong City Council Speaker Elvis Mphitikezi.

Mphitikezi was not seriously injured in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Warrant Officer Jongilanga Fihla on 064 901 9640.
