Father alerted police after hearing his son had allegedly been shot

The body of a young man was discovered by police this week.

The man’s father went to the police station on August 21.

The distraught father told police that someone had told him that his son, a known illegal miner, was shot.

Members of the police in Carletonville went with the man near Sibanye-Stillwater’s 2 Shaft.

After looking around, they discovered the son’s body. He was already dead after being shot in the lower back and buttocks.

The police in Carletonville are investigating a murder case.
