Vehicle left abandoned after driver is kidnapped in Carletonville

The driver was kidnapped in a white Toyota Fortuner.

In an unusual incident, a person was kidnapped from their vehicle in Talc Street this week.

Police were called to the scene near the SAVF’s buildings at about 19:45 on September 9.

Upon arrival, they found a silver-grey Toyota Starlet abandoned in the street. The vehicle was still idling, and the door on the passenger side was open. A nearby resident told them he had seen a white Toyota Fortuner pull up behind the Starlet.

There was an altercation between the people inside the Fortuner and the Starlet. He later heard a gunshot and saw someone being forced into the Fortuner.

This vehicle then raced from the scene.

The Starlet’s passengers also ran away.

Upon closer inspection, the police found a bullet hole on the driver’s side door of the Starlet.

There was also blood inside the car. The police are investigating a kidnapping case.
