Motorists must make sure that they fill their tanks today (Tuesday September 1) as big fuel price increases will come into effect at midnight.

The price of petrol will increase by R1.34 a litre, while diesel prices will jump by as much as R3.15 a litre.

The price of illuminating paraffin will also increase by R2.13 a litre and the maximum retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by 69c/kg around Merafong.
