Traditional singer will be on TV show

A talented local singer will be appearing on “Roots”, a traditional music TV show on SABC1 at 17:30 every Saturday.
Thembeka Wittes is a traditional Xhosa singer and she will be performing with her dancers from iZizululwana
Zakwantu, a group of young traditional dancers from Kokosi. The group is made up of Xhosa boys and girls from
the age of 14 upwards. She is helping the aspiring young artists to make a name for themselves in the industry.
While they usually perform with her, they also perform on their own as independent artists. Since the Herald featured Thembeka in a previous article after she was nominated for the SATMA awards, she has been working with a company in Johannesburg. She has been performing at weddings in and around Johannesburg, Kempton Park, Centurion, Zavier and Vooslorus.
