Many tackle Parkrun pre-event at Goldfields West

A large field of runners drove to Goldfields West Golf Club on Saturday to take part in the pre-event for the first Carletonville parkrun.

A total of 60 runners and walkers of all ages took up the challenge. As a bonus, instructors from Bear Fitness in Carletonville led a warm-up session before the start.
According to the organiser, Ockie Brits, Saturday’s run was arranged to test the track for the official Carletonville parkrun that is set to launch at the beginning of February.
If everything goes according to plan, there will be another pre-run in January.

A fitness instructor from Bear Fitness in Carletonville, Rina Erasmus, made sure the group was properly warmed up before taking on the course.
