Christmas for Seniors on the Go

Martin Barber from SOS ProTec Sure Security spoke about crime tips for over the Christmas period and advised the seniors to make sure if they are going away on holiday to leave their home locked up properly, as well as other useful information and tips.

A FESTIVE morning was held on Tuesday, November 15 for Crime Prevention Seniors on the Go at Golden Falls Spur Columbine Square, Suideroord.

Organised by Michelle Pelser (Mondeor SAPS Sector 2 CPF) and Joy Boswell (president of Eikenhof WI), the morning was a wonderful success with donors and sponsors going all the way to spoil the seniors.

Martin Barber from SOS ProTec Sure Security spoke about crime tips for the Christmas period. He advised the seniors to make sure that if they are going away on holiday they must leave their home locked up properly. He also shared other useful information and tips.

Calvin Heggie (DisChem Mondeor Store health manager) also said a few words, as did Michelle. Tiza Chilonga (manageress Golden Falls Spur) welcomed all the seniors to the breakfast, which as usual was sponsored by them.

“This has been quite a year and we hope next year this group will grow and we can have more seniors every month,” said Michelle. “I’d like to thank all our wonderful sponsors for the goodie boxes, Kyro Lab (various body creams), Joy (home-made Christmas crackers), Sasol Swartgoud (gift boxes), Wow4U Events (gift boxes), Noel Exteen for the beautiful Christmas button holes, SOS Security, Chubb Security, DisChem Mondeor, Golden Falls Spur, Takis (fruit sticks), Linda and Jonathan Facrie for the stunning stickers, ER24, as well as Mondeor Sector 2 CPF for running this programme,” Michelle added.

“I’d also like to thank Julie Maule from Caxton South who always goes out of her way to attend our mornings and to all the community who make it possible for us to have the programme.”

DisChem Mondeor also held a raffle and each senior citizen brought a gift which were exchanged between them all.

“We wish you all a very merry Christmas and may 2017 bring you lots of happiness,” Michelle said.
