Cause4Paws needs money to pay its veterinary clinic bill as it is struggling to get donations, and its sustainability depends on donations from the public.
Cause4Paws is an animal welfare organisation that focuses on animal sterilisation, immunisation, medical care and education, as well as feeding over 2 500 dogs and cats in the Jackson’s Drift community, located south of Johannesburg.
“It has been very hard this year; with petrol going up and donors battling themselves. More than 2 500 animals are needy in this township and it is devastating to turn someone away who desperately needs dog or cat food. Our hearts break daily,” explained Rene Parker, director of Cause4Paws.
According to Rene, Cause4Paws does a dipping and deworming programme every six weeks, and if funds allow, they vaccinate puppies as they lose so many to the parvovirus.
Cause4Paws is also a Woolworths MySchool card beneficiary, receiving approximately R500 every month.
Case4Paws additionally has requests for dog and cat food. The charity utilises Hi Performance Feeds, which costs R660 for a 50kg bag of dog food and R700 for a 20kg cat food.
