TC Direct sees their donation to Nkosi’s Haven as morally imperative

This donation comes days before June 1, the day Nkosi Johnson passed away from an Aids related disease, 23 years ago.

A generous donation to Nkosi’s Haven was secured by Ward 125 Clr Matsobane Sekhu and Mrs SA semi-finalist Maria Flayser from the Aeroton-based company Table Charm Direct (TC Direct) on May 14.

The donation, which amounts to over R44 000, includes among others an immune boost, vitamin gummies, tooth pain gel, aloe skin spray, healing balm, foot scrub, vapour rub, hair remover, sunscreen, chewable tablets, and hair protectors.

Sekhu said Flayser`s efforts on women’s economic empowerment are crucial, especially considering the correlation between financial dependency and vulnerability to abuse.

“By empowering women economically, we enhance their individual livelihoods and contribute to larger societal efforts to combat abuse.

“The impact of Covid-19 on international donations is unfortunate but not surprising, given the widespread economic challenges. Relying on local companies for support is a wise strategy, as it fosters community involvement and ensures that aid reaches those who need it most, particularly vulnerable children.

“Gail Johnson’s work at Nkosi’s Haven is commendable, and it is heartening to see individuals recognise and support her efforts. Caring for vulnerable children is an investment in a brighter future for them and society. No child should ever be left behind, and it is inspiring to see proactive steps being taken to ensure that.”

Crucial support and care

Office and admin manager at TC Direct, Tracey Hicks said they have a strong belief in the importance of supporting organisations like Nkosi’s Haven through donations.

“Nkosi’s Haven is a remarkable institution that provides crucial support and care to children and families affected by HIV/Aids, and they feel privileged to contribute to their noble cause.

“At TC Direct, we understand the profound impact charitable donations can have on communities in need.

“Nkosi’s Haven’s dedication to offering shelter, healthcare, education, and empowerment to those affected by HIV/Aids aligns closely with our values of compassion, social responsibility, and community support.

“By donating to Nkosi’s Haven, we are providing essential resources and helping to create a brighter future for individuals facing significant challenges.

“We believe that investing in organisations like Nkosi’s Haven is not just a philanthropic gesture, but a moral imperative. The work they do in providing holistic care and support to vulnerable populations is invaluable and contributes to building a more inclusive and compassionate society.

“By supporting them, we are actively participating in the collective effort to address social issues and make a positive difference in the lives of those in need.

“Our commitment to donating to Nkosi’s Haven is rooted in our belief that every individual deserves access to quality healthcare, education, and support, regardless of their circumstances.

“The resilience and determination of the individuals served by Nkosi’s Haven inspire us and it is an honour to contribute to their well-being and success.

“Thank you to Nkosi’s Haven for considering our donation. Together, we can make a difference and create a more compassionate and supportive community,” she said.
