Mondeor hosts hair fashion show

The event was intended to expose the Mondeor Village Shopping Centre to more people.

LOCAL businesses at the Mondeor Village Shopping Centre hosted a hair fashion day and fun event on Saturday, May 28.

The day started with great music performances by youngsters who rapped away, while businesses from the complex and surrounding areas set up stalls to create awareness around their products and services.

The Avant Garde Hair brought the heat as locals could not help but snap photos of the impressive hairstyles, courtesy of the complex’s Fifty Shades Hair Beauty and Body Art Launch.

Chantell Jansen van Vuuren, who organised the event, said: “We are promoting businesses in the community. The drug free organisation is also here to support the youngsters as they are showcasing their talents.”

A number of local businesses made their way to the centre and enjoyed the entertainment from Roots 501 Production, a small company that helps up-and-coming artists with their PR management and empowers them to learn to make a living out of their passion and talents.

Thandeka Cele and Ntokozo Dali from Africa Nzuri said they were grateful for the opportunity to showcase what they do as they are a female owned small business that designs and makes African traditional accessories and clothing.
